Blue Whale appeared as a minor character during the original Kemono Friends mobile game.

Personality

She acts like mother to other friends and often offers to sing them lullaby before sleep. She likes traveling far away and sometimes doesn't tell the reason. After waking up from nap, she usually found other friends sleeping near her.

Self-Introduction

My name is Blue Whale. I'm being called as the largest living animal. Also, with the breathtaking size record of 34 meters, I'm far bigger than dinosaurs! Even with this appearance, it looks like I'm having power and open-mindedness. Maybe that's why everyone called me "mother".

Role in the Plot

Blue Whale's Side Quest

“I feel a bit lonely, since I can't meet with mother Blue Whale...yes, I want to see her... I want to see her! If that's what I have to do, I'll search for her together with Malka, Nalka, and Ikkaku!”
Common Bottlenose Dolphin, in her diary

The story starts with Common Bottlenose Dolphin (Dolka), Short-Beaked Common Dolphin (Malka), Chinese White Dolphin (Nalka) and Narwhal (Ikkaku) having a conversation about Blue Whale, who has disappeared. Ikkaku says there is a rumor that she was kidnapped by a giant Cellien, or eaten by the dark space. Nalka is worried, because everyone has been looking for her, but they haven't been able to find her. Malka wonders out loud why Blue Whale disappeared, prompting Nalka to say that maybe they are acting bratty, and that Blue Whale has run out of patience. Dolka, despite understanding why the others would speculate, asks them to stop until they can ask Blue Whale themselves and find out the truth.

As the four run out of ideas about where to look, Ikkaku says she has a place in mind, but only Friends who would be especially skilled at swimming would be able to reach it - the Narimon Great Whirlpool. Nalka remarks that the tides around the whirlpool change suddenly, which makes the trip difficult. Despite this, the four attempt the journey anyway, and successfully make it into the whirlpool, exhausted. After this, Dolka spots Blue Whale, who sees the group, and asks why they would come to this dangerous place. Malka retorts by saying that that's what the four of them should be asking her, and asks Blue Whale why she disappeared.

Nalka and Dolka immediately ask if the reason is because they are acting like brats and making her tired of them. Blue Whale assures them that that is not why she disappeared, and says that she is traveling far away as part of a diet. She apologizes, realizing that even though the whirlpool is a short distance for her, it must be a very long distance for the dolphins and Narwhal, and it must worry them. However, she then tells them she is upset at them for taking such a dangerous path to reach her, prompting the four of them to tell Blue Whale they are not children who need protecting. This makes Blue Whale happy, and asks them to have a contest of power with her.

After this, the four of them defeat her in the fight, causing her to say that they have become stronger. Malka, worried, asks if Blue Whale is hurt in any way. Blue Whale assures the group that they did not injure her, and that in reality, the physical activity is good for her diet. Dolka remarks that Blue Whale's weight hasn't changed much at all, prompting Nalka to tell Dolka to lower her voice, or else Blue Whale could get angry. Blue Whale then apologizes for leaving without telling the four why, and asks them to come back and fight her again whenever they wish to help with her diet. Malka says that she will gladly help Blue Whale, as it allows the two spend time together.

Blue Whale then asks the four of them to go home together. The scene then changes to the Beach on the next day. Serval congratulates the dolphins and Ikkaku for finding Blue Whale, but Mirai notes that the group looks dismayed. Malka explains that Blue Whale is bad at holding back her power, and the group got blown away. Dolka then vows to herself not to be defeated by Blue Whale.

Relationships

She has a good relationships with the dolphins and Narwhal, acting as their leader and mother.

Trivia
