Strategy
In a similar manner to the 2-star and 3-star Japari Bun Photos, the Sparkle Fragment Photos are not used by Friends like most Photos are, but rather are exclusively used for enhancing other Photos. Sparkle Fragment Photo 4☆ can be used to increase the level cap of 4☆ Photos, excluding those obtained from the Main Story. Unlike the Japari Bun Photos, Sparkle Fragment Photos are extremely rare and hard to come by, so they should be used sparingly!
It is very strongly advised that copies of Sparkle Fragment 4☆ never be used to upgrade permanently-available 4-star Photos that can be obtained from the gacha; it may take time, but players will eventually obtain more than enough copies of such Photos through regular use of the various gacha pools, especially the Captain Points banner granting a daily free 10-pull, to upgrade these Photos to their maximum potential without needing to expend a valuable Sparkle Fragment. Examples of permanently-available 4-star Photos include Captaaain!, King of Snakes, and Going To The Ocean. It is also suggested to avoid expending Sparkle Fragments on what are called "semi-limited" 4-star Photos; these are Photos which are only available through limited-time gacha banners, but which can always be pulled from any of such banners from which Photos are a possible drop. Examples of semi-limited 4-star Photos include Racing Interval.
If a copy of Sparkle Fragment 4☆ is to be used, it should be used on a 4-star Photo that a player is unlikely to come across additional copies of for the purposes of upgrading. For example, in the cases of Photos exclusive to cross-franchise collaborations, it may not possible to obtain additional copies from the Peach Panther Shop and it is improbable that additional copies will be distributed in the future, making Sparkle Fragments the only way to increase the level cap of and/or upgrade these Photos.
