Personality
Gray Wolf is a polite mangaka who enjoys telling scary and often deceptive stories to Lodge Campo's guests before recording their frightened reactions in her work. While formal, she is quite playful, deriving great pleasure from her antics, even at inappropriate times. Despite this tendency to cry wolf, she always comes clean and is prone to getting startled herself, like when she encounters 'the ghost' in Episode 10.
Role in the Plot
Episode 10 - Lodge
While out exploring the lodge late at night, Serval and Kaban find Gray Wolf writing her latest draft. She introduces herself as an author and is pleasantly surprised when Kaban recognizes what that entails. She mentions mid conversation that they must be brave to be staying here, before going on another one of her misleading speeches to collect their scared expressions. Gray Wolf is found again in the morning discussing ghostly rumors with Reticulated Giraffe and Campo Flicker before they all go to investigate, which she uses as an excuse to continue playing tricks on people until eventually encountering the ghost herself. Now mutually afraid, they hold a meeting where Kaban deduces the ghost's identity as their companion Boss, replaying old recordings left by the former Park Guide, Mirai. Gray Wolf thanks the two for their troubles and Reticulated Giraffe finds out that she's the author of her favorite manga. Raccoon and Fennec Fox then greeted her on their quest to capture the 'hat thief.'
Episode 12 - Amusement Park
Gray Wolf helps fend off the Giant Cellien, and later celebrates in the Amusement Park with the other Friends, showing Ezo Red Fox and North American Beaver her finished manga.
Relationships
Reticulated Giraffe
Gray Wolf is at first disliked by Giraffe for her tricks, who later accuses her of being the ghost in a convoluted manner which Gray Wolf quickly brushes off. When Giraffe discovers that Gray Wolf is actually the author of "Horror Detective Girogiro," the manga that inspired her to be a detective, she then addresses Gray Wolf as "sensei" and admires her greatly.
Campo Flicker
As one of Campo Flicker's guests, they share a neutral relationship only occasionally tested by Gray Wolf's morbid sense of humor.
Serval
Serval expresses a slight distaste for Gray Wolf's pranks as she is easily scared and trusting of others without a second thought. Throughout her and Kaban's stay, Serval becomes increasingly paranoid of the ghost until accusing Gray Wolf of trying to trick them. Once Gray Wolf gets visited herself, Serval ultimately forgives her. Gray Wolf returns the favor by joining the others in their battle against the Giant Cellien.
Kaban
Unlike Serval, Kaban seems more comfortable with Gray Wolf's jokes. However, she is still easily scared by them. Kaban is quick to point out that Gray Wolf is writing a book, which impresses the latter since most Friends don’t know what those are anymore. Noticing how genuinely shaken Gray Wolf seems to have been by her encounter with the ghost, Kaban defends her from Serval's accusations. During their battle against the Giant Cellien, she assures Kaban that you cannot give up even 'when the real world looks more like a horror story.'

- Gray Wolf's two-toned tail colors are reversed between her anime design and original artwork.
- Prior to her role as Gray Wolf, Kanae Itō also voiced the character Atlantic Puffin in the original Nexon game. She also voiced many other characters from the Nexon game including King Cheetah, Mountain Hare, Keroro, Eurasian Otter, Linnaeus's Two-Toed Sloth, and Puma. In the English dub, she is voiced by its casting director, Marissa Lenti.
