Arctic Tern Nexon Game

Arctic Tern is a type of Friend that appeared in the original Kemono Friends mobile game.

Appearance

Arctic Tern has short, white-colored hair that fades to black on her sides and to gray on the ends. As is the case with most other bird Friends, she has a red-colored front bang to represent her beak. A pair of long, slender wings extend from the sides of her head, slightly fading to light gray on the edges. She wears a black, slightly tilted beret and has navy blue eyes. Her rectrices are colored gray and fades to white near the edges.

She wears an unbuttoned feathered suit with a white-to-gray coloration. Her cuffs are white, while the two buttons on her suit are colored scarlet red. Under the suit is a white shirt which she sports along with a vermillion-colored tie. She wears a black gathered shirt, vermillion leggings, and coral-colored mary-janes. She also has a gray scarf wrapped around her neck.

In Real Life

An arctic tern.

The Arctic Tern is a medium seabird belonging to the family Laridae, along will gulls and skimmers. A highly migratory species, an Arctic Tern has an approximate average annual round trip length of 70,900 km (44,100 mi) - 90,000 km (56,000 mi), flying from the northern arctic to Antarctica, winning for the prize for the longest known migration in the animal kingdom.

Their plumage is generally a monochrome palette of grey, white, and black, creating a strong and definitive contrast against their bright red/orange beaks. They're also very protective parents, and have an extraordinary defense system which involves signaling via calls and dive bombing anything they perceive as a threat.

Most of the Arctic Tern's diet depends on it's current location, but is almost always composed of fish such as cod, capelin, herring, and sandlances, or marine crustaceans like crabs and krill.

Trivia

  • The Arctic Tern has the longest migration of any animal by distance
  • Live up to 30 years old
