Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey is a Cerulean huntress who first appeared in Episode 11 - Cerulean of the Kemono Friends anime.
Personality
Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey has a kind and protective nature. During her first encounter with Kaban and Serval, she rescues the duo and urges them to be careful in the Restricted Area.
It appears that she is fairly sensitive to others' feelings, being able to sense the true intention behind Brown Bear's apparently hostile dismissal of Kaban and Serval.
Role in the Plot
Episode 11 - Cerulean
Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey saves Kaban and Serval from a Cerulean attack during her first appearance in the anime. After introducing herself, she begins to lead them somewhere safe. Along the way, she explains to the pair that Ceruleans are capable of consuming Sandstar.
After parting ways with Kaban and Serval, she discovers the footsteps of the Black Cerulean and decides to pursue it with the help of Brown Bear. She tries to fight against the Cerulean with Brown Bear and African Wild Dog, but she is defeated by it and loses consciousness. When she comes back to her senses, she is able to regroup with the other Friends, and helps to formulate a battle plan against the Cerulean threat.
Episode 12 - Amusement Park
Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey appears in the collective fight against the Black Cerulean to rescue Kaban. She is also seen searching for Lucky's remains and later participating in Kaban's party.
Relationships
Brown Bear
It appears that the two Friends are fairly close, working as a unit together with African Wild Dog. When Brown Bear angrily dismisses Kaban and Serval, Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey guesses that this is only because she doesn't want them to get hurt, a claim which the bear is unable to deny.
Trivia
- Prior to her role as Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey, Misaki Watada also voiced the character Eurasian Lynx in the original Nexon Game. She also voiced two other characters from the Nexon game including Sivatherium and Numbat.
- Misaki Watada goes on to reprise her role as Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey in the 2019 Mobile Game Kemono Friends 3.
