河川や湖沼で暮らし、背面は褐色光沢なのがカワウです。足には水かきがあり泳ぎが得意で、約10mと潜水能力も高く、水中の魚を捕らえて水面に運び飲み込みます。70秒も潜れるそうです。群れで行動しますが、ねぐらからえさ場へ向かうときなど、列を作って飛ぶ姿が観察できます。 「黄色いところが尖ってないのがカワウでう！たまに慌ててジャパまん飲み込んじゃうけど、気にしないでう。丸飲みはあたしのワザでう。この体になったから歩くのもへっちゃらう！泳ぎが得意なトリの子で集まって、泳いで、走って、飛んじゃうレースをしてみたいでう！」	{{{endescription}}}
