Purpose

Licensing table used for file pages.

Usage

Optional unused parameters will not be displayed.

type	The type of file; defines the category that the file will be placed in. Available file type options are: Artwork - Official artwork. Illustration - Page illustrations from a book or manga. Render - Officially rendered models used in place of artwork. Model - Images of models. Logo - Logos of media. Cover - Covers of media; also includes images used to represent digital media, such as DLC. Map - Maps taken from games. Graphic - Non-pixel images taken from games. Includes character portraits. Sprite - Sprite images taken from games. Screenshot - Media screenshots. Card - Playing or trading cards. Icon - Graphic icons, including interface icons taken from games. Crop - Cropped screenshots. Merchandise - A demonstrative picture of a real-world product, including photos and released promotional images. Photo - Real-world photographs. Audio - Audio files. Wiki - Images for use specifically by the wiki. Flag - Country flags. Other - Images that do not fit into the above categories.	Required
source	The source of the file. This does not refer to what media the file is from. It specifically refers to where the file was found.	Required

Source Field

The source field is used to identify the origin of a file. For example, a file sourced from game files should have the username of the individual who ripped it, or link to the page it was found on the website from which it was taken (i.e. Spriter's Resource, Sandstar). Images sourced from news articles should link the article. Images scanned from a print work should source the user who scanned it. Images which are screenshots from a digital release should source the user who provided the screenshot, not link to where the digital release was located (i.e. Crunchyroll). Japari Library also does not link to websites promoting piracy, therefore, source links should never direct to piracy websites. Files taken from social media should link to the social media post in question.

For usernames, the username on Japari Library is preferred. However, we are aware that many people contribute to Japari Library indirectly by providing screenshots to active editors for use. Therefore, the source's Discord username is also acceptable.

Sourcing files is extremely important. By displaying the source in a public location, it is possible to contact the original source of the file to ask questions even if the uploader has ceased activity on Japari Library. It also allows users to identify whether a file is taken from a third-party or if the file has been digitally altered. Without the source, it may also be impossible to determine the origin of a file in the future when articles or websites are taken down, users delete their accounts, or games end online services.

Artist Field

Artwork and illustrations require artist attribution. When filling in the artists field, the input should be formatted like so: artists=Mine Yoshizaki, Fly. If the name is misspelled, then it will create an error; however, alternate spellings or pseudonyms with an existing redirect will not. For example, inputting Yoshizaki Mine will still produce the output Mine Yoshizaki.

For artwork and illustrations that have a completely unknown author, the artists field should be filled in with Unknown. This will add the category Artwork with unknown authorship to the file. Otherwise, the listing of an artist is required for these kinds of files. If there is no input whatsoever for a file that requires an artist, the category Files without artist attribution will be added to the file.

Autocategories

Fileinfo has an auto-categorization feature based on the input provided to the template. This allows for easy categorization of files and makes it easier to find specific kinds of images within the thousands of files on Japari Library. In most cases, there is no need to worry about autocategories unless an unintended output is produced. In such cases, please inform a member of staff.

Autocategory Suppression

There may be cases where autocategories should be suppressed; either because the category may only contain a single file or because there are not enough files relevant to a specific piece of media to warrant separation. Whatever the case, there are category suppression parameters that can be used. Their usage is shown below.

These suppression parameters can be combined as needed. Additionally, entering None into the media= field with remove the Files with no associated media category, mainly for use with images used for wiki functionality.
