[[Common Bottlenose Dolphin]]s are marine mammals native to tropical and temperate oceans all around the globe. They're grey in colour with a light grey underside. On average, they're two to four meters long and weigh 200-600 kilograms. Dolphins living near the coast are on the smaller side while the ones off-shore are larger. Their diet consists of shrimps, fish and squids. Dolphins live in groups called pods of around 10-15 individuals and periodically form groups of up to a thousand individuals. The pods are tightly-knit families which hunt together, play together and raise their young together. Males reach sexual maturity between 8-13 years of age while females do between 5-13 years and usually have their first offspring between 8 and 10 years old.
[[Campo Flicker]]s are medium-large woodpeckers native to South America, namely eastern Brazil, Paraguay, Bolivia and north-eastern Argentina. They're around 30 cm long and weigh 160 grams. Campo Flickers have yellow plumage on the sides of the head, neck and breast. The crown is and directly below the beak is black. Their brown back has white bars while the bright grey-ish underparts have dark bars. Beak and feet are grey.

Bottlenose Dolphins use a variety of ways to communicate and play with each other. They can make a variety of sounds to communicate with each other or detect prey through echolocation. They're chasing and throwing objects at each other to practice catching prey. While they ocassionally hunt by themselves, they usually hunt in groups, herding schools of fish into confined space or trapping them in a corner to then charge into their prey one at a time.
As opposed to other woodpeckers, Campo Flickers are often found on the ground to forage for beetles, termites and ants. They also rarely eat fruit. They often hop to cover longer distances on the ground. They are more social than other species and often form small colonies. They use their beaks to excavate termites mound to both feed and build a nest inside, there are no or only a few trees available.

The Dolphins need to breathe air so they frequently surface to exhale and inhale through their blowhole, which they close underwater. They could hold their breath for over 10 minutes, but choose not to do so and usually breathe multiple times a minute. They may even jump up to 5 meters high out of the water, though it's not clear for what purpose. They're also frequently seen riding the wake of boats, to the amazement of passengers.
Like many other bird species, Campo Flickers form monogamous bonds for life. They breed during the dry season from August to September. They lay 4-5 eggs which they will incubate over the next two weeks. Chicks will fledge after around one month time. The birds usually do not disperse far and stay within their range year-round.

Dolphins are highly intelligent, making them popular subjects for research. They're also very capable and eager to learn; they imitate imitate each other and so wild dolphins have been seen performing tricks, such as tail-walking, they learned by observing formerly captive dolphins released back into the wild. In some areas, dolphins and humans have formed mutually beneficial bonds where the dolphins would drive the fish toward fishermen and eat the fish that would subsequently try to escape the fishing nets.
Many Woodpeckers use their beaks to knock on wood to find hollow areas full of insects and larvae. They have incredibly long tongues with barbed tips that wrap around their skull. The tongues are inserted into the termite mounds and other insect-filled places to extract food. During feeding it's also constantly coated in sticky saliva, a technique also used by other anteating species like [[Southern Tamandua]]s or Echidnas.
