Satanic Leaf-Tailed Gecko are endemic to Madagascar, known from multiple localities in the central-east part of the island. They are small sized lizards of around 15 cm in length, better known for their unique exterior look, leaf-tailed geckos have bodies that allows them to camouflage perfectly in the canopy. They are seen in a variety of colors including red, tan and brown, with males having notches in their tails while females usually having a perfectly outlined tail that resembles a ficus leaf.
