A list of all Friends based on herbivorous, odd-toed ungulates belonging to the genus Tapirus, commonly known as tapirs. There are four extant tapir species—three of which are endangered—which can be found in Central America, South America, and Southeast Asia. Tapirs are known for their short trunks and pig-like bodies, though they are not at all closely related to elephants nor to pigs; their closest living relatives are the rhinoceroses.
