Mountain goats can be found mostly around the mountainous ranges of North America. Despite their name, mountain goats are not actually part of the goat genus. They are instead more related to serows and gorals. The two layers of fur that cover their bodies help protect themselves from the cold climate high in the mountains. Their brilliant white colour and their tendency to live in cold undesirable climates helps provide camouflage and protection against predators. [[http://www.defenders.org/mountain-goat/basic-facts 1]] Because the horns of the mountain goat never shed, it's possible to tell a goat's age by counting the rings on their horns. [[http://idahoptv.org/sciencetrek/topics/mountain_goats/facts.cfm 2]]

Their hooves are primarily designed for mountain climbing. Each hoof is split into two toes for additional grip, and the soles are designed to provide traction against the irregular shape of a rocky environment. [[https://www.forbes.com/sites/quora/2017/05/26/why-are-mountain-goats-such-effective-climbers/1#736196e5237a 3]] Mountain goats practice jumping from an early age, and by the time they're an adult, they can jump up to 12ft in height. [[https://www.nationalgeographic.com/animals/mammals/m/mountain-goat/ 4]] Due to their incredible skill at mountain climbing, they are the largest mammal that can be found living at altitudes at and above 13,000ft. [[https://www.nationalforests.org/blog/eight-facts-about-mountain-goats 5]]

Their diet consists of grasses, plants, and lichen found on the mountain ranges. In the late spring to early summer, mountain goats will develop a craving for salt to aid muscle and bone development. This will lead them to perilous situations to reach salt deposits on the sides of cliffs. They may also approach human visitors to lick the salt from the sweat on their bodies or the items they have touched. [[http://wdfw.wa.gov/living/mountain_goats.html 6]]
|introduction=The '''Jungle Crow''' is a type of bird [[Friend]] that appeared in the original Kemono Friends mobile game.
|appearance=Jungle Crow is shown wearing a full black Seifuku style school uniform, complete with a black knife-pleated mini skirt, a light gray underskirt, black tights, black full length gloves, black, scrunched down socks and black loafers. Her shoulder length hair is also black, with her bangs covering her left eye and fading to a gray-white color. Her eyes are a light, faded blue, and her broad feathered tail is fanned out wide and, like the rest of her coloration, black.
|reallife=[[File:junglecrow_danielruyle2.jpg||thumb|upright=1.0|left|The blue-violet sheen of the jungle crow's feathers is shown off in this photo taken by Daniel Ruyle]]The jungle crow is a common, widespread bird throughout Southeast Asia, with a large population in Japan. They are slightly bigger than the common American crow, with a thicker beak and more squared head making them appear more raven-like. Their nests are normally made high up on trees, usually conifers. While they used to be made with twigs, the crows have adapted to their urban environment using wire clothes hangers instead. However, jungle crows do not breed during their first year.

Jungle crows appear black, but have a blue-violet sheen to their feathers. They roost in large flocks, sometimes numbering in the thousands. They have a linear dominance hierarchy, remembered based off individual recognition. Their diet is varied, going for pretty much anything edible they can find, be it plant or animal, alive or dead.

Their call is generally the same as most other species of crow, though usually deeper in pitch. They are also occasionally witnessed mimicking woodpecker drumming. There are not many predators for the jungle crow, with most deaths being attributed to illness or parasites.
|trivia=* Several field fires near Fushimi-Inari shrine in Kyoto have been attributed to crows flying away with lit candles for their wax, which is often made from Tallow.

* The nests they build out of wire clothes hangers can sometimes cause blackouts when made too close to power lines. Because of this, the governor of Tokyo assembled a task force to locate and destroy crow nests made with this wire.

* These crows take advantage of cars to crack open tough nuts. They wait for the lights to show it is safe to cross a crosswalk, place walnuts on the road, and after they are driven over and cracked open the crows fly back out at the next traffic cycle to retrieve the nut.
Honey Badgers are widely distributed throughout Africa south of the Sahara, the Arabian Peninsula, Western Asia and the Indian Peninsula. Characterized by having a stocky body, they usually have a body length of 60 to 70 cm and a mass ranging from 8 to 12 kg. In general the lower half of the body is a dark black, with an upper mantle that is either gray or bright white. This species is also known as the ‘ratel’, an Afrikaans word for ‘rattle’, as it is known to make a rattle-like cry

With large front claws and very thick skin, that prevents a predator from getting a firm grasp on their body, Honey Badgers are known to be notoriously aggressive animals, which results in them not having an extensive list of predators. They are carnivorous and opportunistic foragers, feeding on eggs, small rodents, snakes, birds, and frogs, but they can also eat fruit, roots, bulbs, and the bee larvae and honey inside bee hives.
|trivia=* Honey Badgers associate with birds of the species [[Greater Honeyguide]]. Honeyguides will lead them to hidden insect hives which they can break open and feed on, while the bird gains access to the previously inaccessible supply of wax and larvae.
|reallife=[[File:Real_saiga_antelope.jpg|thumb|upright=1.0|left|An adult male Saiga Antelope next to a calf.]]
Saiga Antelopes are found in three areas of central Asia with different populations: Russia (Kalmykia), Kazakhstan and Mongolia. They inhabit open dry steppes and semi-arid desserts, in flat areas with low-growing vegetation. Saiga Antelopes have a very distinct feature, their large head with a huge mobile nose that hangs over its mouth, adapted to live in their harsh environment. They have a pair of long, waxy colored horns, long, thin legs, a body that resembles that of a sheep, and a short yellowish coat that becomes thicker and longer in winter.

Saiga Antelopes are herbivores, being mostly active during the day where they spend much of their time grazing on various species of grass, herbs and shrubs. They occasionally migrate as a group, forming large herds consisting of 30-40 individuals to escape snowstorms and droughts.

During mating season adult males gather a group of 5-15 females in harems which they defend aggressively from other males. The intense fighting and very little feeding during this time results in really high mortality for the males, up to ninety per cent may perish due to exhaustion.
|trivia=In 2015 around 200,000 saiga antelope suddenly died in Kazakhstan. Scientists found out that the deaths were a result of the change of their environment which resulted the invasion of a pathogen into the bloodstreams of the antelopes.
{{FriendBuilder
|introduction='''Chinstrap Penguin''' is a type of penguin [[Friend]] that premiered in the fourth official Kemono Friends guidebook. She has yet to appear in any other official media.
|reallife=The Chinstrap Penguin are a small species of penguin found in rocky areas of the Antarctic Ocean. Their name derives from the narrow black band under their heads. This also means they are one of the most identifiable penguins in the species. They have a black bill, and when young, can have spotting around their eyes and a slightly shorter bill than an adult Chinstrap Penguin. They are medium-sized penguins, with a height up to 70 cm and can weigh up to 6 kilograms.

Chinstrap Penguins are carnivorous birds who normally feed on small prey such as fish, krill, shrimp, and squid. Like most other penguins, they have tightly-packed feathers, which make them waterproof and incredibly excellent swimmers, swimming at 30 kilometers an hour. However, they are rather shallow compared to other penguins in terms of diving depth, where they can only dive as deep as 70 metres at a time.

Chinstrap Penguins live around 20 years, and there are a population of around 13,000,000 to 15,000,000 Chinstrap Penguins alive, so they are in no state near being endangered. They live in large colonies, sometimes with over hundreds of thousands of Chinstrap Penguins at a time. Their national predators are Leopard Seals, Sea Lions, Orcas and Sharks. Eggs and young chicks are also vulnerable to seabirds such as Skua. This is why many adult Chinstrap Penguins stay with their young at all times, to protect them while they need it most. At times, only one adult stays with the young while the other goes to get food.
|trivia=Two chinstrap penguins, Roy and Silo, caused a lot of controversy by trying to perform mating rituals and trying to hatch a rock as an egg despite being both penguins being male. Their keepers gave them an egg that was from a breeding pair that couldn't hatch it. The egg hatched and the couple raised the baby named Tango.
As other Friends, she has two strings of hair projected upwards to represent her antlers, a pair of small animal ears and a very small tail. She wields a brown lance with both sides of it presenting ring-like ridges. She wears a white shirt under a light brown v-neck vest with a big white spot on her belly, and an orange bow tie. For her lower half, she small ripped tawny shorts, thigh highs following the same color pattern as her shirt and a pair of small platform shoes that are light brown at the top and dark brown at the bottom.
|reallife=[[File:Real_saiga_antelope.jpg|thumb|upright=1.0|left|An adult male Saiga Antelope next to a calf.]]

The intense fighting and very little feeding during this time results in really high mortality for the males, up to ninety per cent may perish due to exhaustion.
|trivia=In 2015 around 200000 saiga antelope suddenly died in Kazakhstan. Scientists found out that the deaths were a result of the change of their environment which resulted the invasion of a pathogen into the bloodstreams of the antelopes.
Cape mountain zebras are the smallest zebra with a height of 120cm at the shoulders and a weight of around 300 kilograms. Their stripes are broader compared to other zebras and continue up to their manes but do not cover their belly. They have long, pointed ears and a dark muzzle. Hartmann's mountain zebra is larger and their stripes are thinner. Their diet consists of grass, bark, roots and fruit.

Mountain Zebras live in small herds consisting of an alpha male and one to five females with their offspring. The young of the Cape Mountain Zebra will leave their mothers herd at one to three years of age or up to three months after the birth of a sibling. They will form bachelor herds or females will join new or existing harem herds. Young of the Hartmann's Mountain Zebra will be forced out of the herd by their mothers after a little over a year.

The Cape Mountain Zebra was close to extinction in the mid-1900s when less than 100 specimen remained. Populations have recovered since; the species remains critically endangered still, mainly surviving thanks to the conversation efforts of the Mountain Zebra National Park. Hartmann's Mountain Zebra are more numerous, being listed as vulnerable. Both species are threatened by hunting and loss of habitat.

The intense fighting and very little feeding during this time results in really high mortality for the males, up to ninety per cent may perish due to exhaustion.
|trivia=In 2015 around 200000 saiga antelope suddenly died in Kazakhstan. Scientists found out that the deaths were a result of the change of their environment which resulted the invasion of a pathogen into the bloodstreams of the antelopes.
